TIPS Salary Survey
Targeted International Public Sector Salary Survey Minimize

INTRODUCTION

Birches Group LLC is pleased to introduce the TIPS Salary Survey – Targeted International Public Sector Salary Surveys – a new initiative to help meet the unique labour market data needs of international public sector employers.  TIPS is a total compensation survey specifically for the international public sector community, focused on leading embassies, development organizations and selected international organizations.

For over 20 years, Birches Group consultants have conducted surveys in more than 140 countries on behalf of  international public sector clients.  We have survey datasets containing the leading international public sector employers, including the US Embassy, the World Bank, Canadian Embassy, European Union and many others.  These employers are often used as the central benchmark reference for the international public sector.  Through the TIPS initiative, we are seeking to broaden access to this important information to the larger international public sector community, to deepen and enrich its utility to serve the needs of this group of employers.

WHAT IS THE TIPS SALARY SURVEY?

The TIPS Survey is a dedicated labour market survey for the international public sector. The survey covers salaries, cash allowances, in-kind benefits and incentives, providing clients with a total compensation perspective of the labour markets. While targeting the international public sector, the TIPS report also provides the context of broader market conditions through links to the Birches Group multi-sector survey report, which includes both leading public and private sector employers.

RICH AND DYNAMIC CONTENT

The TIPS report provides a wide range of information about salaries, allowances and benefits, enabling you to easily determine your market position and update your salary scale. It’s easy, too, to add your data to the survey so that you can directly compare your data to the market from within the report--each TIPS survey report is individually customized for each participant.  Your participation also helps to enrich the dataset and sustain the survey in the future. The reporting formats are standardized and consistent across all the countries, yet flexibile enough to capture the unique characteristics of each market. You can request data on a gross or net of tax basis, in local currency or the currency of your choice.

UNPARALLELED DETAIL

The TIPS survey includes detailed information about cash allowances and in-kind benefits common in developing markets. In addition, a full range of other employment practices common in the market regarding leave, insurance and pensions, as well as summary data on national social insurance, labour law and taxation is provided.

WHAT POSITIONS ARE INCLUDED IN THE SURVEY?

A full range of positions commonly found amongst international public sector organizations are in the TIPS survey. Benchmarks include managers and professionals across many occupations; jobs involved with development programme management; and clerical and support staff. Position comparisons across employers have been thoroughly examined with in-depth assessment of structures and job grading policies, to ensure consistent job matching. In the future, we plan to add new positions unique to the international public sector covering consular, public information and economic analysis fields.

A WIDE RANGE OF FORMATS FOR REPORTING DATA

We offer a range of options to meet the needs of organizations large and small:

  • Single Job Profile Reports: offer a lower-cost option for data for one position only.
  • Market Reports:  provide a comprehensive report on the surveyed local labour market.
  • Targeted International Public Sector Reports:  provide data for public sector employers only.
  • Online Access:  is available through our Indigo™ survey portal, allowing customization of reports and easy exporting of data into Microsoft Excel format for further analysis.

WHEN CAN I GET THE DATA?

Survey data is available now in over 140 emerging markets. Targeted Public Sector Reports will be available in the near future once the current testing programme is completed.

Looking for information & cost estimates I had several questions regarding your services as well as pricing. My questions are: I saw on the website all the countries that you have information on, on average, how many companies participate in surveys for these countries? Is it possible to get a sample of a full report as well as a single job profile? What is the price for a full country report versus a single job profile and do you offer discounts if we purchase more than one? I am interested in the Indigo Portal - does this access come with a purchase or is the cost separate? Overall, I am very interested in what your company has to offer. Is it possible to speak with someone? I can be reached by using the email listed above or by phone at 619-272-0370. Thank you for your time and assistance! Submitted By: Kristen Fields
