2009 LiNGO Survey Announced

The 2009 LiNGO Survey is underway!  Birches Group LLC, in collaboration with InsideNGO, ORC Worldwide and People In Aid, is please to announce that the LiNGO Survey -- Local salary surveys for International NGOs -- is now open for registration.  The LiNGO survey is the premier resource for international NGO market data, and after a successful pilot covering 20 countries in 2009, we will be expanding to over 140 developing countries globally.

Why LiNGO?

The LiNGO survey is the only survey designed to meet the unique needs of the development sector on a global basis. Using a methodology tailored to capture the typical compensation and benefit arrangements found in developing countries, LiNGO includes everything that employees might receive as compensation:

  • Base salary;
  • Cash allowances;
  • In-kind benefits, such as transport, housing, meals, recreation and more; and
  • Incentives.

Each of these components is valued using the Birches Group methodology; both gross (pre-tax) and net (after-tax) values are available.  In addition, we gather information about other benefits, such as retirement, health care and insurance, and provide reports summarizing the Social Security, labour law and leave benefits, income tax rules, and exchange rate history.

Roles covered by LiNGO include all country-based jobs, from general support to programme roles and technical specialties.

When Will My Country Be Surveyed?

The survey schedule is demand-driven.  This means we will prioritize the countries with the greatest demand to survey first, according to registration.  So, if you want to ensure your countries of interest are surveyed soon, sign-up now at the LiNGO web site.

How Do I Register or Get More Information?
