The Birches Group was founded in 2005 by four partners who together have over 70 years of experience in managing HR policies in large, public sector international organizations. Prior to forming the Birches Group, the principals worked extensively in the areas of compensation management, organization design and performance management.  They conducted salary surveys in over 130 countries and provided compensation consulting expertise to many internal and external clients as part of one of the world's largest international public sector entities.  They also managed a job evaluation system for 5,000 employees and developed performance evaluation strategies.  The Firm was created specifically to make this expertise available to a broader range of public and private sector organizations globally.

ABOUT OUR NAME

The inspiration for the name of our company comes from the poetry of Robert Frost. In Frost’s poetry, much imagery is taken from nature. The birch tree is found in several poems and represents strength and flexibility.

Birch trees are distinctive. They are not among the largest trees in forest; however, they are amongst the most hardy. In our work with clients, we understand that organizations are not static entities, but living communities. Like a forest, organizations need to find flexibility, diversity and a capacity of sustained renewal to remain healthy and vibrant.
